Soft green eyes
Like clouded jade
Stare out from 'neath the chair
The beast, she waits
Statue-still
But for the tail twitching there
Time unknown
She stays beneath
Not moving from the spot
Waiting for
Her one last chance
With hope she won't be caught
The door's unbarred
The beast erupts!
Darting for the portal wide
Too soon it's shut
She pitifully mews
And kitty's stuck inside
